Award-winning Italian journalist, Stefano Pozzebon, will be responsible for covering major news stories in Italy and across Europe for CNN's linear and digital platforms. He will work alongside CNN Vatican Correspondent Christopher Lamb, who leads CNN's coverage of the Vatican and the papacy of Pope Leo XIV, says the network.

Pozzebon previously served as a contributor for CNN in both Bogota, Colombia, and before that in Caracas, Venezuela, where he was instrumental in the network's coverage across Latin America in English and Spanish.

He most recently reported from Venezuela after twin earthquakes struck the country within seconds of each other, causing widespread damage. He also reported on Colombia's recent presidential election and the ongoing changes inside Venezuela, adds the network.

Named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Italy list in 2017, Pozzebon studied International Journalism at City University, London.

He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese as well as his native Italian, concludes the network.
