Senior account executive Tekanyo Selatela was named Best Up-and-Coming PR Professional.
The wins come as Tribeca celebrates 20 years in business and follow its strongest year yet, marked by sustained growth, new client partnerships and continued investment in its people, says the agency.
Unlike the agency categories open for entry, the Grand Prix Agency of the Year is awarded through a separate judging process to one of the Agency of the Year category winners. It honours the agency that best embodies PRISA's best practices, values and ethics, makes a notable contribution to the industry and demonstrates passion for the profession.
"Winning Best Mid-Sized PR Agency was already a huge moment for us. The Grand Prix was completely unexpected," says Nicky James, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Tribeca Public Relations. "What makes it even more special is what the award stands for. We have spent 20 years building an agency that does excellent work, treats people properly and stays true to its values. To have this recognised by our industry means everything to us."
The LEGO wins are a proud moment for everyone who worked on the campaign and one Tribeca shares with its client. "Thank you to the LEGO team for trusting us to bring this idea to life and to our team for delivering work we can all be proud of," adds James.
Selatela's Best Up-and-Coming PR Professional award celebrates the contribution he is already making as a senior account executive. Winning so early in his career gives the industry a name to watch.
"We are so proud of Tekanyo, or TK as he is known to us," says James. "He thinks carefully about his work, wants to learn and always puts up his hand to help. We have watched him grow in confidence and ability and he so deserves this award."
Over the course of 2025 and 2026, Tribeca grew its business across a range of sectors, welcoming clients including Anglo American Foundation, Aware.org, Bonitas, FirstRand Foundations, inDrive, ManageEngine, OceanX, Traxtion, , Volvo South Africa through Retroviraland WesBank, to name a few, adds the agency.
Alongside this growth, the agency continued investing in its team through training in strategic thinking, crisis communication, confident communication, digital trends and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. Its internship programme also saw one of its two interns move into a permanent role.
As it enters its third decade, Tribeca is building its digital expertise and AI literacy while maintaining its focus on specialist public relations counsel, strong media relationships and credible earned coverage, says the agency.
"Our tools and the way we work will keep evolving. Our responsibility to think carefully, bring original ideas and earn trust remains," adds James. "These awards give us so much to celebrate, but they also give us a standard to keep living up to. Thank you to our clients for trusting us, to our Tribecans for the care they put into their work and to the judges for this honour. It is a very special way to begin our next chapter."
"Huge congratulations to all the winners. We know how much work goes into the campaigns, teams, agencies and brands behind these awards. There is so much talent in our industry and it was lovely to get together to celebrate it," concludes the agency.
